The Kow Swamp remains are the world’s largest single population of human remains from the late Pleistocene era (120,000–10,000 years).

Kow Swamp’s name comes from the Aboriginal word Ghow which describes the white gypsum soil found at Kow Swamp. Kow Swamp is a popular fishing spot.

Isolated granite outcrops provide imposing views and contrasting landscapes.

Containing one of the largest, most intact tracts of indigenous northern plains vegetation in Victoria. An abundance of wildlife gives the park high conservation value, making the Terricks a very special place indeed.

The 400ha Lake Boort is a semi-permanent freshwater wetland.

Featuring the greatest number of scar trees in Australia, made when Aborigines removed bark from the trees with stone tools for shelter, cooking uses or for drying possum skins. Bait or lure fishing, Lake Boort is a perfect spot.
